A broad definition of emotional-social intelligence according to the Bar-On model

According to the Bar-On model, emotional-social intelligence is an array of interrelated emotional and social competencies, skills and behaviors that determine how well we understand and express ourselves, understand others and relate with them, and cope with daily demands, challenges and pressures. The emotional and social competencies, skills and behaviors referred to in this broad definition of the construct comprise the 15 factors defined below, that were confirmed by a series of factor analyses in the development of the Bar-On psychometric measure of this construct.
